Judaism has a great deal to contribute to the larger discussion about SOUL. When I know my soul as a continuum, then its separate embodied distinct form of nefesh is connected all the way through Ruach, Neshama, Chaya, all the way to Yechida — its complete identity in the Oneness. I live my life along that continuum, at various times celebrating or exploring a deeper identification with each step on the journey of connectivity.
To know myself in this way is to know God
The whole effort of the spiritual process is to break the boundaries you have drawn for yourself and experience the immensity that you are. The aim is to unshackle yourself from the limited identity you have forged, as a result of your ignorance, and live the way the Creator made you – utterly blissful and infinitely responsible.
— Sadhguru, an Indian guru and founder of the Isha Foundation
Knowing my soul as a continuum, softens those boundaries of conditioned distinct self,(nefesh) so that I can glimpse the immensity that I am, beyond the limited identity I have forged, or the identity that has been projected on me. Just that glimpse opens a door to bliss, and then the vastness of God-in-me leads me towards an embrace of the infinite responsibility with joy and a sense of adventure. The nefesh is touched by the Ruach HaKodesh, which sends me to the reality of my own breath (Neshama/Neshima) as an interchange of finite and infinite, which opens the pure Life force (Chaya) that moves through me as I dissolve into that Oneness (Yechida). I know myself as both God and this separate entity manifesting Divinity.
What a gift to ride this continuum!
