New Moon Song

Goldie Milgram is publishing a book of Feminist liturgy and music and is using some of my old creations. She found this New Moon Song and I recreated it by collaborating with my younger self and coming up with something new.

Rejoice in the sliver of moon,

Whose voice announces a newborn light,

Let the flowers of blood descend,

From the womb of the fertile night.

Borchi Nafshi Shechinah (4X)

Hallaluyah! (6X)

May the time of awakening come to pass,

When as wanderers we cease to roam,

Though we plant in tears, may we reap in joy,

When the harvest brings us home.

Borchi Nafshi Shechinah (4X)

Hallaluyah! (6X)

May the darkness send us deep inside,

Where the hidden fire is burning strong,

Let my soul be restored,

In the power of this song.

Borchi Nafshi Shechinah (4X)

Hallaluyah! (6X)

Rejoice in the moon’s returning light,

May her fullness find my faith renewed,

Borchi Nafshi Shechinah

Hallaluyah!

Borchi Nafshi Shechinah (4X)

Hallaluyah! (6X)

Rejoice in the sliver of moon,

Whose voice announces a newborn light,

Let the flowers of blood descend,

From the womb of the fertile night.
